Hello TGA Voting Members,
It’s finally here! Your long-awaited status update on this year’s TGA Board Election!!
- As of my last email (July 23) we had four nominations for the three open positions on the Board.
- Nominations closed on August 31. There were no additional nominations which were accepted by the nominee.
- Since then, Justin Moul decided not to run for re-election and withdrew his nomination.
- That leaves us with three candidates for three seats. By my math, that makes the election pretty easy…
So what’s next?
- First, I’d like to thank Justin for his eight years of Board service. Among other contributions, he ran the Executive Committee, served on the Finance Committee, and coordinated our TGA-logo merchandise sales. Thank him when you get the chance!
- The remaining nominees are David Belew, Melissa Mendick, and Andi Wynn.
- With only three candidates, the Voting Member Recommendations process will not be needed this year.
- The formal election will be held during the Board’s official Annual Meeting at Railcon. (Normally this would involve certifying the results from the Voting Member recommendations, but that becomes moot with only three candidates for three seats.)
- Results will be announced at the Annual Members Meeting on Sunday at Railcon.
Want to Know More about the Board? Want to Get More Involved with the TGA?
There are many ways to help the TGA. Volunteering at our conventions is the most obvious one, but we need work done at other times on other projects too. Are you potentially interested in being on the Board some day? Are you already fundraising for your 2028 Board election campaign??? Feel free to ask about getting involved now, so you have a better idea of what the Board does. The Annual Member Meeting is one opportunity to get your questions answered, but anyone on the Board would be happy to have a conversation with you at some other time too.
